BACKGROUND
In the Summer of 2015, the East Brandywine Township Board of Supervisors formed the Trails Committee, a new advisory body tasked with the implementation of trails planning consistent with both the 2009 Comprehensive Plan and the 2011 Official Township Map (See the also Township Planning Page). During the creation of the Township's Comprehensive Plan, some 79% of survey respondents indicated they support the Township creating an interconnected trail system as a recreation amenity and a transportation alternative. The proposed trail segment is just one of the new Trails Committee's initiative. Others include a trail segment to connect Ferndale Lane to the Community Park and a multi-municipal project to connect the Struble Trail in Uwchlan Township to Hibernia Park in West Brandywine Township. You can read about these initative on the Trails Committee Page.
